“The secret of getting things done is to act” - Dante Alighieri
Such a simple statement, yet sometimes so hard to do because there are so many “things” to accomplish. Not so for our SRWF members. Just look at the fabulous Membership Tea we enjoyed organized by Jac Beigel our 2nd VP and Membership Chair. In the midst of a busy election year, she and her team created a wonderful event that not only celebrated our 77 years as a Club, but showcased the reasons we’ll be an ongoing vibrant organization!
We honored three members who have 50+ continuous years of service! We also applauded 26 Members with 25+ years, 12 with 15+years, and 46 with 5+ years, as well as four Past Presidents who were there. The greatest news is that we welcomed 32 NEW members to our fold! That put us on record at the end of the May with 154 members, exceeding the previous year. WOOHOOO!
We got to enjoy our elegant tea while we engaged in some “Table Talk” about how we want to see our Club continue to grow and improve. We received our new and informative Rosters, Membership Cards, some great “summer reading” materials and terrific sponsorship prizes. Now THAT’s what I call a “HIGH” Tea! To each of you who helped make all this happen, a big thank you from all of us. Let’s keep that recruiting effort in high gear. We’re going to need a lot of help for all the “action” we need to take.
With the most important election of our lives coming up in November, we have a lot to do. So while we won’t be having our regular luncheon meetings during July and August, we WILL be “in action”. First of all, our generous and hardworking Editor Fran Kruger volunteered to continue to publish the Bulletin during the summer months so we can stay informed. Second, Jac Beigel will be updating our Website along with others from our Club so check it often. We’ll also send email updates. Finally, Ann Dunn and Janet Gardner are going to be looking for our help to register voters at upcoming Naturalization Ceremonies and during the State Fair at our Sacramento County Republican Committee Booth.
